Mark began his teaching career in 2001, working with low-level native-born and immigrant adult students on reading, writing and history in Queens, NY. Since 2009, he has served as the Mathematics Professional Development Coordinator for the PD Team at the Adult Literacy and High School Equivalency Program for the City University of New York, where he provides professional development for adult numeracy teachers within CUNY as well as teachers from community-based organizations across New York City.

Mark is the principal author of the CUNY HSE Math Curriculum Framework and a founding member of the NYC Community of Adult Math Instructors (CAMI), a local math teachers’ circle. He helped develop the statewide NYSED Teacher Leader Project and serves as its lead math trainer. He is also one of the creators and ongoing contributors of CollectEdNY.org, a peer review site developed to bring quality teaching resources to adult literacy teachers and their students.
